| Ok, so the neckline is where I want it, and now it's time to start on the lacing rings. And the realization that because of the very close shaping of the front there is more fabric in the chest area on the left than there is on the right.
So there is now the fun of the spacing of said rings to make sure there isn't too much gappage when I lace it up. Sorry, there is no pinning myself into it for pictures, so those will have to wait until the rings are done.

| is in one piece....the upper lining is together also but not attached to the gown itself. That's for tomorrow.
So, I pinned the front up (that was fun) and I thank the Gods of Steel for good strong steel straight pins hehehehehe

| | So the orange linen/cotton is cut out except for the sleeves, those get done last. Since I've started to lose weight the old fitted pattern still fits, so with some minor alterations (like the neckline hehehe) I cut it out. First thing to be sewn will be the gores. | Or nearly done (finally)...There are cheats...no zipper, it does lace.
With split rings. *laugh* damn near perfect too. Only thing left to do is the bodice lining sewn down.
Then there is the matter of a hood. Should be only a matter of an hour or two on that one.
Then tomorrow an event to play at and a fitted gown for myself to be started. In orange, lightweight linen/cotton blend.
And viking clothing. And new garb for the old man.

| Is in my bedroom, and working like it was brand spanking new. WOOT!! and the modern walking foot works like a dream, now to finish other projects that have been waiting for faaaaaaaaaaar too long.

| There is fabric for doublet and slops! Since this material is rather flimsy (which is good) the padding will only need to be thin. However, the slops will need something not like the doublet padding so I was thinking a strip of courdouruy (kint tipe toonite) inside would give the strips enough "oomph". hehehehe

| FINALLY. Most of the pieces have been torn. Starting with the Italian Chemise. Fun will be pinning the neckline and the cuffline. Maybe it would be easier to run three or four rows of dots and gather it, THEN blackstitch it down with an easy stitch. The fabric for the bodice of the overgown has been purchased as well as the lining (I already have good interlining) and I now peruse the bins and such looking for complementing fabric for the skirt.
The gentleman's Elizabethan fabric will be satin. Color to be determined.... | | comments: Leave a comment |
| Sent my doublet project to an event as an exhibit piece...while there were no comments, I got two beads which I understand to be that someone saw it and liked it!

| So...last couple of days off (Saturday and Tuesday) I've made one pair of jeans, dress (awaiting a hem on bottom and sleeves) and a second pair of jeans almost finished.
Torn my fingers up at LEAST three times on pins. *sigh* Too bad I couldn't make armor for my fingers hehehehehehe.
And something to spout about later. I hope. :)
